Susan Crawford Vintage
Susan Crawford is a publisher, knitwear designer, author and shepherdess living in a small farm on the North Lancashire hills. A former art and fashion lecturer, Susan runs her own independent publishing company and writes knitting and fashion history books. Her knowledge of early 20th century fashion has led to appearances on TV, including the BBC documentary The Golden Age of Knitting.
Her long-awaited new book, The Vintage Shetland Project includes original designs from the 1920s to the 1950s selected from the Shetland Museums archive and transcribed into comprehensive patterns for the modern knitter. Susan's two volumes of A Stitch in Time with Jane Waller introduced many knitters to vintage designs and through her careful rewriting of the patterns for modern shapes and contemporary yarns these iconic treasuries have become modern classics.
All her books feature stunning full-colour photography, faithful styling and the chance for vintage loving knitters to recreate their favourite garments.
